Lisa Duong
Barre instructor
I took my first ever Barre class at Bohemian Studios in 2015. Through good and bad days, and even a pandemic, I can still honestly say I’ve left every class feeling better than when I walked in! I often tell my classes they have already earned their gold star as we are settling in, because getting out the door and to a class can be the most difficult part of the endeavor! Once the music starts, we begin individually discovering where we are at that day, commit to honoring what we discover, and begin moving together, everything else melts away for the hour (and hopefully longer!), and the transformation to “better” begins!
Combining music with movement and community fills me with passion and a sense of empowerment that I strive to nurture and promote through teaching. Every day is different for each of us, bring me whatever you have on a given day, I’ll work to put a smile in your heart! I believe class should be challenging, but also lighthearted, and that joy is equally as powerful as physical strength building.
Whether on the student or instructor mat, I plan a long future with barre. It’s such a creative and accessible practice where our unique styles can shine! I truly look forward to seeing you shine on a mat soon!
