the craft of teaching yoga
jan 29-april 30, 2017
Welcome to a unique training experience: the Craft of Teaching Yoga.
Trainees emerge from this program equipped to lead intelligent, creative, musical and meaningful vinyasa flow. We dive deep into sequencing, anatomy, yoga history and mythology, theming, and hands-on assists.
We take weekly “yoga field trips” together to experience and discuss influential instructors throughout Seattle. Trainees are encouraged to draw inspiration for flow sequencing from many studios and many styles.
This program empowers trainees to approach teaching yoga with the mind and heart of an artist. We balance technique with intuition, we contrast skill with innovation, and we discover fluid artistic expression within the grounded structure of asana, anatomy and history.
All lessons are held in Phinney Ridge.
We meet weekly for 13 weeks, with a welcomed spring break half way through the program.
Each week, we enjoy “yoga field trips” and practice with Seattle’s best vinyasa instructors to discuss inspiration and insights from that teacher.
There are no make up sessions for missed lectures, but all sessions are audio recorded and available for trainees for the duration of the program.
